Rochelle Mellish is awarded the 2009 Sloane Scholarship in Aerospace Engineering

 

Rochelle Mellish has been selected to receive a Sloan Scholarship to facilitate and complement her Ph.D. studies with the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park. The amount of the Scholarship is $26,950, which is available to cover actual costs of tuition, stipend, books, professional travel and/or summer support while she is working toward the PhD.

Rochelle Mellish is originally from Houston, Texas and completed her B.S. in aerospace engineering at Princeton University in June, 2008.

Mellish has participated in summer internships with the Alliances for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP) program. Currently, she is a 1st year graduate student in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Maryland working as a teaching assistant. Her research interests are in space systems.
