Evening@SMART Wednesday, June 3, 2026 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. USMSM SMART Building For More Information: Lauren Bacon 301 226 6033 lbacon1@umd.edu https://matrix.umd.edu/events/eveningsmart The University of Maryland MATRIX Lab is looking forward to hosting its first external and first industry speaker of Evening@SMART, a series of dynamic presentations and stimulating discussions focused on bringing together thought and action leaders in government, industry, and academia to share valuable perspectives on current technical topics.   The June 3 speaker is Robert Hicks, Founder/CEO of Offshore Aviation Group (OAG).   This will be a great opportunity to learn more about how and why OAG was created, what they're working on, and how industry, government, and academia can collaborate to meet research goals. Bio: Hicks is a combat veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years. He was a project lead for DARPA, and leads OffshoreUAS, Offshore Diagnostics, and Offshore Aviation companies. OAG has provided over 14 years of aviation and maritime support services to the Department of Defense. The company specializes in maritime and aviation support assets, deployed communications, and global logistics solutions. Location: USMSM SMART Building - 44219 Airport Road, California, MD 20619.
